David Z. Morris

David Z. Morris, PhD. is a pioneering technology reporter, fraud investigator and financial analyst. His book on the FTX fraud, “Stealing the Future: Sam Bankman-Fried, Elite Fraud, and the Cult of Techno-Utopia” is available now from Repeater Books.

He is a former chief columnist for CoinDesk and staff reporter for Fortune Magazine. His work has appeared in a wide range of outlets, including Slate, The Atlantic, Aeon, Bitcoin Magazine, and Protos.

David played a major role in highlighting and unpacking billion-dollar frauds at Terraform Labs and FTX, and covered the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried in depth. At Fortune, he conducted major investigations of alleged frauds at Nikola Motor and Tesla.
